Fatal Shooting in McNairy County Claims Life of Selmer Police Officer and Another Individual

A tragic incident unfolded in McNairy County, Tennessee, where a Selmer police officer and another individual lost their lives in an officer-involved shooting, as confirmed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

When WREG contacted the TBI for information, they received the following response:

At the request of 25th Judicial District Attorney General Mark Davidson, TBI agents are investigating the circumstances leading to an officer-involved shooting in McNairy County involving officers with the Selmer Police Department. The incident occurred this afternoon in the 100 block of New Bethel Road in Selmer. Two individuals were fatally shot during the incident, one of which was a Selmer police officer.”

The officer’s identity and the identity of the other individual involved in the incident remain unknown at this time.
