A man from Escatawpa has been arrested and is now facing charges of animal cruelty and engaging in unnatural intercourse.

Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter announced in a press release on Thursday that Timothy Sanders was arrested on Wednesday, October 30th. The arrest was made in connection with an incident involving Sanders’s cousin’s dog, as reported by Darkhorse Press.

According to the press release, Sanders’ cousin informed detectives that he discovered Sanders holding his dog down and engaging in sexual intercourse with her. The dog is a pregnant pitbull.

On Wednesday, authorities arrested Sanders at his residence. County Judge Mark Watts refused him bond after his initial court appearance on Thursday.

We will publish additional information as it becomes available.
