BATAVIA, N.Y. — A man sought by Batavia Police Department (PD) on a weapons charge since September 2023 has been arrested after being located by U.S. Marshals.

Batavia PD has provided limited details regarding the case. The man, identified only as Royse, was wanted for criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. The release regarding his arrest does not specify the charges he is currently facing or the incident related to the charges.

A $2,500 reward had been offered for information leading to his capture. While Batavia PD did not confirm whether the reward would be paid, they expressed gratitude for community tips and acknowledged the assistance of Le Roy PD in the investigation.

There has been no information released about Royse’s location at the time of his capture.

At the time the search for Royse was launched, he was on parole for a second-degree burglary conviction and had an active parole warrant out for his arrest.
