After a $160M Revamp, Harveys Lake Tahoe Will Transform into Caesars Republic Hotel and Casino

<p>Caesars Entertainment announced its plans to transform its renowned <a href=”https://www.worldcasinodirectory.com/casino/harveys-resort-casino-3449″ rel=””><strong>Harveys Lake Tahoe property</strong></a> into <strong>Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel &amp; Casino</strong>. This change will involve a <strong>$160 million investment</strong> to rejuvenate the resort and provide a contemporary experience for visitors to the South Shore. The makeover is currently in progress and includes a variety of improvements to reflect the natural elegance of Lake Tahoe and set a new standard for luxury in the area.</p>
<h3><strong>Resort-wide renovations to redefine luxury:</strong></h3>
<p>The comprehensive renovation will cover all 1.6 million square feet of the resort and infuse modern design elements throughout. The design firm <strong>Marnell Companies</strong> is leading the project, which starts with a revamp of the hotel lobby, and spreads to the hotel towers and casino floor. Major upgrades include a revamp of the 88,000-square-foot casino space with new digital displays, overhauled tables and chairs, updated lighting and carpeting. The slot machines will be modernized, and new additions such as a High Limit Room and a devoted <strong>World Series of Poker Room</strong> will enhance the gaming experience.</p>
<p>Guests can anticipate that the resort will remain operational during the transition. <p>Both hotel towers in the resort’s are undergoing massive refurbishments. The <strong>Remus Tower,</strong> formerly known as the Mountain Tower, will have all rooms refurbished and selected suites upgraded with butler service. The <strong>Romulus Tower</strong>, previously the Tahoe Tower, is also being refreshed after a significant remodel in 2020.</p>
<p>The transformation also includes <strong>new dining and lounge experiences</strong>. A standout will be Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails, an elegant space that shifts from a relaxed daytime café to a chic cocktail lounge in the evening. Popular venues such as Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN and WOLF by Vanderpump will continue, further solidifying the property’s high-end culinary stature.</p>

<h3><strong>Investment signals confidence in Tahoe market:</strong></h3>
<p>This is the second Caesars Republic location to debut, following the 2024 launch of <strong>Caesars Republic Scottsdale</strong>. Unlike the Arizona property, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe will offer a comprehensive gaming experience, including table games, slots, and a <strong>Caesars Race &amp; Sportsbook</strong>.</p>
<p>Caesars’ $160 million investment signals the company’s overall faith in the Lake Tahoe market. Although gaming revenue on the Las Vegas Strip slightly declined last year, South Shore casinos reported a gross win of<strong> $244 million</strong>—a 8% increase from pre-pandemic numbers in 2019. The area is also drawing investment from other operators, including Golden Nugget, which is embarking on its large-scale renovation of a nearby 539-room casino hotel.</p>
<p>Across the road, <a href=”https://www.worldcasinodirectory.com/casino/harrah-s-lake-tahoe-hotel-and-casino-2649″><strong>Harrah’s Lake Tahoe</strong></a>, also managed by <a href=”https://news.worldcasinodirectory.com/caesars-entertainment-highlights-digital-growth-amid-q3-losses-115820″>Caesars</a>, is undergoing its own series of improvements. Refurbishments to the Summit Suites are in progress, and the newly launched Brew Brothers is adding an exciting craft beer and dining aspect to the experience. Additional technological enhancements and upgrades are also planned to complement the redevelopment at Caesars Republic.</p>
<p>Although Caesars oversees the operations of Harveys, the property is owned by <strong>Vici Properties</strong>, the real estate investment trust spun off from Caesars in 2017. These types of projects are typically financed through sale-leaseback arrangements, with REITs like Vici or competitors such as Gaming &amp; Leisure Properties contributing capital for increased rental income.</p>
<p>With wide-ranging renovations in progress and expected to be completed by <strong>mid-2026</strong>, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is poised to herald a new era of luxury hospitality, establishing itself as a top-tier destination on the lakefront.</p>
