Naked Mother Throws Newborn & Toddler from Second-Floor Window in Brooklyn Incident

A naked mother allegedly threw her newborn daughter and toddler son out of the window of her second-floor apartment in New York City on Saturday morning.

The mother, who has not been identified, tossed her daughter and two-year-old son out of the window before jumping out herself around 11:20 a.m. in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood, according to police.

She then reportedly continued to harm the children, who were also naked, by pounding the infant’s head into the ground because she was “tired of being by herself,” as reported by the New York Post.

Neighbor Carl Chin, 41, intervened heroically to save the children. Chin recounted that he and his fiancée were in bed talking when they heard the baby crying.

“Within seconds we heard a thump, like a body hitting the ground. So she jumps up to the window and sees the two kids on the floor,” he said.

Chin’s fiancée rushed out of their home shouting, “Call 911! Call 911!”

Chin dialed 911 while his fiancée hurried to the rear of their home, shouting at the mother, “Don’t hurt the child! Don’t hurt the child!”

“I ran to the back and saw the mom with the child in one hand. She dropped the infant a couple of times,” Chin recounted.

He described leaping over the fence and attempting to restrain the woman, who had the newborn in a ‘headlock.’

“I forcefully took the baby from her, using my forearm to get her to loosen her grip. We exchanged a few words, and within seconds, the FDNY and ambulance arrived and took over,” he said.

“I wasn’t even thinking; I just reacted because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Chin added.

Outside the home, Chin informed reporters that the toddler seemed to be in good condition post-incident, not crying or showing signs of pain. However, the infant appeared to be struggling to stay conscious.

“She was trying to open her eyes, but they were closing. Half her face was bruised. I hope she didn’t hit her head on the concrete, but her head was swollen,” he observed.

Chin noted that after the chaotic events, the woman seemed to return to awareness, thanking him and requesting that he take care of her daughter.

“I have no idea what was going on with the mom. I had never met her or seen her before, but she clearly is not in the right state of mind. She must have been having some kind of mental breakdown because they were all naked,” Chin remarked.

According to the NYPD, the young girl was transported to Maimonides Hospital in critical condition, while the woman and her son were taken to Brookdale Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. There have been no further updates on their conditions.
