An oil company based in Mississippi has recently revealed its plans to expand its operations with a whopping $85 million investment, which in turn, is expected to create 200 new job positions within the company.

On Tuesday, Ergon announced that they will be expanding their Flowood headquarters, doubling its current size.

70 years ago, Ergon was established and since then, it has been catering to customers worldwide. Recently, the company has undergone an $85 million expansion, which has doubled the size of its current headquarters.

The expansion project is slated to wrap up within a year, according to the latest estimates.

Leslie Lampton founded Ergon, Inc. in 1954 as a private company in Flowood, Mississippi. With only two employees, the company initially focused on refining and distributing petroleum products. Today, Ergon serves customers in more than 90 countries and continues to be a leader in the industry.

According to Governor Tate Reeves, the tale of Ergon is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of Mississippi.

Governor Reeves stated that professions such as accountants and engineers, among others, will remain capable of supporting their families. Investing in these industries will encourage young individuals to stay in Mississippi, leading to a brighter future for the state.
