Over the weekend, a crash resulted in the unfortunate death of a woman from Blackfoot, as confirmed by the coroner.

According to Chad Walker, the Bear Lake County Coroner, the individual who passed away was identified as Abigail Thornley, aged 20. At present, the cause and manner of her death are being investigated.

The collision occurred when Thornley was driving his 2017 Chevy Spark southbound, and a 35-year-old woman from Ovid, Idaho, was driving northbound in a 2019 GMC Terrain. Both vehicles collided in the accident.

According to the Idaho State Police, Thornley passed away at the crash site, despite wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the GMC, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to a nearby hospital, and her current condition remains unknown.

According to her obituary, Thornley was passionate about music and theater, and actively participated in several school plays during her academic years. She was an adventurous soul who loved to explore new avenues. Recently, she had been working as a paraprofessional for the Blackfoot School District, where she had been serving for the last eighteen months.
