According to the police, a tragic incident occurred in Harlem on Thursday night when a vehicle hit two young children who were crossing the street. Sadly, one of the children lost their life while the other sustained injuries.

At around 7:40 p.m., the collision occurred at the intersection of Lenox Avenue and West 135th Street.

A 37-year-old woman was crossing the street along with a 4-month-old girl, a 2-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old girl. Unfortunately, a Nissan SUV, which was traveling southbound on Lenox Avenue, turned onto West 135th Street and hit the 2- and 3-year-old girls. The police reported the incident.

After the tragic incident, the 40-year-old driver exited his car and scooped up the 3-year-old girl. He rushed her to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem, hoping to save her life. However, despite the best efforts of the medical team, the young girl lost her battle. The driver also brought the 2-year-old girl to the hospital for medical attention.

Fortunately, the woman, driver aged 40, and the 4-month-old baby escaped the incident unscathed. No injuries were reported.

The connections between the woman and the three children remain ambiguous.

The investigation is still in progress.
