The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington D.C. recently made headlines after apprehending and accusing two women of murdering their “sugar daddy” and utilizing his severed thumb to gain access to his financial accounts.

CBS News obtained court records which revealed that 19-year-old Audrey Miller and 22-year-old Taylor Gray were accused of killing their “sugar daddy,” identified as 53-year-old Fasil Teklemariam.

On April 5, Teklemariam was found in his apartment’s bedroom by the Metropolitan Police Department. He had sustained multiple stab wounds and other injuries, including the severing of his right thumb.

According to records, Teklemariam’s death case has five suspects listed, including Miller and Gray. Tommy Whack, aged 34, was arrested and charged in May for his involvement in the case. Additionally, there are two other male suspects in the investigation.

According to the records found by the Metropolitan Police Department, there is evidence indicating the use of cleaning products to hide or destroy evidence related to the crime. Despite this attempt, the investigators were still able to recover fingerprints from the crime scene.

Teklemariam’s body was discovered and reported to the police two days later.

Apart from Teklemariam’s thumb, the burglary also resulted in the theft of a cellphone, tablet, and another electronic device from the apartment.

Witnesses Say the Victim Was One of the Suspect’s ‘Sugar Daddy’

According to witnesses who spoke to the police, Gray, one of the suspects, had visited the apartment building on at least two occasions prior to the murder. These same witnesses also revealed that Teklemariam had been Gray’s “sugar daddy.”

According to the witness, Gray was seen utilizing Teklemariam’s absent thumb to gain entry into his bank account and make payments for Uber rides and buy alcoholic beverages and other substances. The witness also speculated that Gray might have utilized Cah App accounts to receive money from Teklemariam.

Teklemariam had reported Gray to the police prior to his passing, accusing her of being involved in the disappearance of his phone and the unauthorized use of $1,600 from his Cash App account.

The death of Teklemariam has led to Gray and Miller being charged with armed felony murder in the first degree.
