Worth County authorities investigate woman laying in road northwest of Kensett

KENSETT — The Worth County Sheriff’s Department says they are investigating why a woman was found laying out in the middle of the road on Monday.

A news release from the department says they received a 9-1-1 call of a female laying in the road and in and out of consciousness in the 1200 block of 430th Street, which is about four miles northwest of Kensett. When deputies arrived on the scene, the female was awake but said she did not know what happened or what was going on. The cause of the incident remains unknown.

Mercy Air Med and the Mason City Fire Department’s ambulance service assisted the Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa State Patrol in investigating the incident.
