Webster City man dead after high-speed chase in Wright County

EAGLE GROVE — One man is dead after a high-speed chase in Wright County over the weekend.
The Iowa State Patrol says 36-year-old Jose Casiano of Webster City was driving erratically on State Highway 17 near Eagle Grove when a Wright County deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. Casiano fled the scene at speeds up to 130 miles per hour. He failed to negotiate a curve and went into a ditch near the intersection of the highway and 308th Street south of Eagle Grove.
The State Patrol says Casiano was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
