Venezuelan Citizens Arrested For ATM Skimming Across Missouri And Kansas

Two individuals from Venezuela were apprehended in Kirkwood, Missouri, for allegedly employing card skimmers at ATMs throughout Missouri and Kansas.

Darwin G. Moreno-Conde, 24, and Yorbin Y. Allen-Hernandez, 44, were apprehended on November 15 at the Kirkwood Police Department. They were subsequently transferred to Ray County jail on charges of purportedly operating a skimmer at Bank Midwest in Richmond, Missouri, as stated in court documents.

Bank Midwest has received multiple reports of fraudulent activity at their ATMs. The bank’s fraud department has discovered that the skimmers are being placed on ATMs located along Interstate 70.

Skimmers were found to be in use at ATMs belonging to the bank in O’Fallon and various locations in the St. Louis area. Additionally, incidents of fraudulent transactions were reported at a Phillips 66 gas station located at 3601 Harry Truman Blvd in St. Charles, as well as another Phillips 66 gas station at 100 Lake St. Louis Blvd in St. Louis.

The ATM’s surveillance video captured Moreno-Conde and Hernandez in their vehicle, ultimately resulting in their arrest due to the identification linked to Hernandez’s ID.

Moreno-Conde faces charges of theft and first-degree property damage to a teller machine. They are currently in custody with a $250,000 cash-only bond. Moreno-Conde’s initial court appearance is scheduled for November 26.

An immigration judge in Detroit, Michigan, has ordered Hernandez to be deported.
