BELMOND — For the second straight season Belmond-Klemme High School won’t be fielding a baseball team. The school could be feeling the effects of cancelling summer sports last year. Superintendent Dan Frazier says the school won’t field a team in 2021 either.

Frazier says it will be a rebuilding process for the program. Only seven boys in grades nine through 12 signed up for baseball and it is doubtful they will field a varsity team in 2022.

Frazier does not believe it will be a long term issue.

Frazier says Belmond-Klemme will field a softball team this summer.
