On Monday, Macon received a visit from U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff, who came to promote the bipartisan Pathways to Prosperity Act. The main objective of this legislation is to reinforce job training and skills development programs at community and technical colleges. Senator Ossoff, alongside Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock and Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), helped introduce this act.

Central Georgia Technical College joined forces with Sen. Ossoff in a press conference to discuss his plans of improving job access for the people of Georgia.

The Strengthening Community Colleges Grant Program, an established federal program that offers competitive grants to community and technical colleges, would receive a boost through a new bipartisan bill. The proposed bill seeks to enhance and extend this program by supporting collaborations between colleges and employers.

Georgia is working towards expanding the reach of job training programs to benefit more of its citizens.

The primary objective of the legislation is to enhance job training and skill development programs offered by community and technical colleges.
