Preliminary hearings scheduled for suspects arrested in Mason City stabbing

MASON CITY —The preliminary hearings have been scheduled for the two men accused of stabbing of a man last month in Mason City.
Authorities back on Thursday arrested 35-year-old Antoine Rodgers and 37-year-old Marvell Rodgers both of Mason City on charges of willful injury causing serious injury. The two are accused of stabbing 34-year-old Benny Montgomery on the night of March 22nd in the 1300 block of North Federal.
Court documents say that Montgomery was stabbed multiple times in the back, face, stomach, chest and hand, and that the victim has had multiple surgeries after being hospitalized at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, where he at last check was listed in serious condition.
Antoine Rodgers was ordered to be held on $10,000 bond and is not currently listed as being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 5th.
Marvell Rodgers was released into the custody of the Department of Correctional Services after his initial court appearance on Friday and is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing on April 18th.
Willful injury causing serious injury is a Class C felony, punishable by up to ten years in prison.
