Police continue search for missing Kansas man, Jordan Yust

The search for 37-year-old Jordan Yust is still underway, with Olathe Police leading the missing person investigation.

Yust was last seen on Monday, and his car was discovered on 69 Highway near 247th St. in Miami County, but he remains missing.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office urged anyone who was in the area on Monday between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to check their dash camera footage and contact police with any relevant information.

Reports can be made to Olathe PD at 913-971-6363.

Family members are also asking residents in the area to review their home security camera footage.

“We’re looking for Jordan on foot. We know his car was left running on the side of the highway, northbound on 69 near 247th Street. Any sign of where he might have gone or timestamps showing where he has been would help us narrow the search,” said his brother-in-law, Jeff Maxwell.

According to family members, the search is primarily focused on northern Miami County and southern Johnson County. People in these areas are encouraged to check their land, buildings, and security footage.

“Check trail cams, Ring doorbells, dash cams—anything that might show where Jordan was or give us a clue about where he might be. This will help us search more effectively and bring him home,” said his brother-in-law, Jeff Maxwell.

Olathe Police issued an endangered missing adult alert on Tuesday, listing Yust as endangered due to statements of self-harm.

Authorities have no reason to believe he poses a danger to the community.

“He’s an amazing friend, brother-in-law, and husband. He has three kids,” Maxwell shared.

“We just want him home. He has so many people who love and care about him.”

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Olathe PD in the search for Jordan, along with several other law enforcement agencies. The Bates County Sheriff’s Office has also joined the efforts, deploying their mounted patrol, UTV/ATV, and drone units.

Family members are working tirelessly to spread the word as they continue searching for their loved one.

“Jordan, if you’re seeing this, we love you. We want you to come back. Your kids are missing you. Please come back,” said Maxwell.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Jordan’s wife and children.
