Plane lands on Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — A plane made an emergency landing on Clear Lake on Saturday afternoon.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department in a news release says the Clear Lake Police Department had received numerous reports of a plane making a landing in the 3700 block of North Shore Drive and notified the Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Department says they dispatched a deputy, and Iowa Department of Natural Resources officers were on the scene almost immediately and spoke with the pilot.

The plane later was returned to the Mason City Municipal Airport with officials saying the situation was handled.
