One dead after house fire in Mason City

MASON CITY — Authorities say one person died in a house fire in Mason City earlier this week.
The Mason City Police Department says shortly after 5 o’clock Tuesday morning, Mason City Police and Fire Department officials responded to the report of a fire in the 100 block of North Tennessee Avenue. Once firefighters were able to enter and search the home, they found a deceased individual.
An autopsy is being conducted by the State Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the person and determine the cause and manner of death.
