North-central Iowa’s active COVID case count increases by over 4200 in November
DES MOINES — The active COVID-19 case count for the month of November in north-central Iowa jumped by almost 400% when compared to the start of the month.
The number of active cases in the KGLO listening area as of 11 o’clock this morning was at 5742, over 4200 higher than on November 1st. Cerro Gordo County’s active case number rose by over 1400 from 477 on November 1st to 1892 today.
In the 24 hours leading up to 11 o’clock this morning, 67 new cases were reported while 47 more people have recovered. One death was reported in Kossuth County, bringing the county’s total to seven and the pandemic total for the listening area to 134.
The 10-county 14-day average positivity rate stayed steady from Sunday to Monday at 21.6%.
Hospitalizations in the north-central Iowa medical region rose from 78 on Sunday to 84 today. 13 of those patients are in an intensive care unit and 13 are on a ventilator.
Statewide in the same 24-hour period: 28 more people were reported dead to bring the total to 2403; 1033 more cases were reported, while 1112 more have recovered.
