New Jersey to Experience Snow and Wind from Alberta Clipper Storm

Tonight and into tomorrow, a fast-moving low-pressure system known as an Alberta Clipper will be making its way from Canada to New Jersey. As it arrives, it will be bringing with it snow and gusty winds across much of the state.

While the northeastern areas and the Jersey Shore are expected to stay clear of wintry precipitation, some parts of North Jersey may experience a light dusting of snow.

Additionally, higher elevated regions like western Passaic and Sussex Counties could potentially see up to two inches of snow. Further south, a mix of snow and rain is anticipated.

The Alberta Clipper is forecasted to bring wind gusts reaching up to 55 miles-per-hour, ushering in colder than usual air from Canada. This weather phenomenon is renowned for its swift movement and capability to deliver snow across a wide region.

As reported by Yahoo News, the Clipper is anticipated to commence on Wednesday as it makes its way through North Dakota, then traversing the Great Lakes before reaching the Northeast by Thursday.

The forecast is anticipated to provide more specific details as the event draws closer on Wednesday, unveiling a system that will bring snowfall from the Dakotas all the way to New England.

The extent of the snow’s reach to the south is contingent upon the temperatures in the Northeast. As is customary, New York City finds itself on the cusp of the forecast, where the possibility of experiencing rain or snow remains.
