National fireworks convention coming back to Mason City in 2025

MASON CITY — Pyrotechnics Guild International announced on Monday that they were bringing their annual convention back to Mason City in 2025.

The convention annually brings together hundreds of members who share panel discussions, workshops, hands-on learning, and public displays. Conventions also feature public fireworks displays most nights.

The family-friendly event is estimated to attract more than $2 million in visitor spending to Mason City and the north-central Iowa area, according to Visit Mason City.

It will mark the fourth time Mason City has hosted the convention, with the last being in 2018, and previously in 2014 and 2009.
