IOWA CITY — After getting hammered by Purdue the Iowa Hawkeyes have been booted out of the top ten. The Hawks are 11th in the AP Poll after a 24-7 loss to the Boilermakers on Saturday, as you heard on AM-1300 KGLO. Quarterback Spencer Petras was picked off four times as Purdue beat the Hawkeyes for the fourth time in five meetings.

The loss snapped Iowa’s 12 game winning streak.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz hopes his team uses the bye week to regroup.

The Hawkeyes head off into the bye week with a record of 6-1 and will visit Wisconsin on October 30th.

MANHATTAN, KANSAS — Brock Purdy had 208 yards of passing and Breece Hall had 197 yards of rushing as Iowa State beat Kansas State 33-20, the Cyclones first win in Manhattan since 2004. Hall is a native of Wichita and raced 75 yards for a touchdown on the opening play from scrimmage.

The Cyclones are 4-2 and Hall says the offense is hitting its stride.

Next up for Iowa State is a homecoming date with Oklahoma State this Saturday.
