AMES — Iowa State takes a 3-0 Big 12 record into a bye week. The Cyclones raced out to a 21-7 halftime lead and cruised to a 31-15 victory over Texas Tech. ISU coach Matt Campbell

Campbell has been happy with the progress being made by the offensive line.

Breece Hall rushed for 135 yards a two touchdowns as the Cyclones rolled up 516 yards of total offense.

It was the third straight game Hall has topped 100 yards of rushing.

Next up for Iowa State is a trip to Oklahoma State on October 24th.

 

 

SEATTLE (AP) — Russell Wilson capped a 94-yard drive with a 6-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf on fourth-and-goal with 15 seconds left, and the Seattle Seahawks beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-26. Seattle improved to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history with Wilson providing some more prime-time magic and yet another late-game comeback. Wilson finished 20 of 32 for 217 yards and three touchdowns. It wasn’t his best performance but he made the key throws late when needed. Kirk Cousins was 27 of 39 for 249 yards and two second-half TD passes to Adam Thielen.

SAUK RAPIDS, MINNESOTA — The North Iowa Bulls split their weekend series at Granite City. Bailey Huber had a 22-save shutout as Granite City picked up Friday night’s game 2-0. The Bulls bounced back on Saturday night, scoring a goal in each period for a 3-2 victory. Caleb Huffman scored with 1:26 to go in the third period for the winning goal for North Iowa. Garrett Freeman and Cal Nauss also scored for the Bulls. Joe Daninger had 19 saves to pick up the win in goal. North Iowa is now 2-1 on the season and will have a home-and-home series this weekend with New Ulm, with Friday night’s game in New Ulm, and Saturday night’s opening faceoff at the Mason City Multi-Purpose Arena scheduled for 7:30.

 

 

AMES — The NIACC men’s golf team placed fourth in the annual Quad Cup on Sunday at the Coldwater Golf Course in Ames. NIACC dropped a 3-1 decision in the opening round to DMACC and then fell 3-1 to Iowa Lakes in the consolation match. JJ Wickman and Kai Nelles won their match against DMACC 5-4, while Jack Barragy and Beau Thopmson won their match against Iowa Lakes 7-6. The NIACC men will wrap up their season on Thursday at the True North Fall Shootout at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
