Mom Stayed Home To Rest, Claiming She Was Preoccupied With Work And Other Things, While Her Friend Took Her Baby To The Hospital After The Parent Severely Malnourished The Child, Who Wouldn’t Have Survived If He Hadn’t Been Hurried To The Emergency

Authorities have placed a 26-year-old mother from Indiana in jail, accusing her of child neglect after her friend rushed her severely malnourished, dehydrated, and starving baby to the hospital. Authorities have placed a 26-year-old mother from Indiana in jail, accusing her of child neglect after her friend rushed her severely malnourished, dehydrated, and starving baby to the hospital. Authorities said that if the mother’s friend had not brought her infant to the hospital, the two-month-old would not have lived. Prosecutors believe the mom nearly starved her kid to death after her arrest last week.

When the unidentified mother’s friend visited the parents’ home and found the infant malnourished, the investigation got underway. His concerned buddy took the boy, who was severely underweight and dehydrated, to the hospital. According to police officials, the concerned friend transported the child to the hospital while the parent napped at home after working a shift. The mother reportedly stated that a friend took the victim to the hospital while she stayed at home to recuperate after working a part-time job. According to WEVV, she told them that she did not take the victim to the hospital because she was preoccupied with personal and professional matters.

The hospital staff noticed that the infant, who was badly malnourished and hungry, weighed less than he did at birth. The baby’s face sunk in, and his small frame lacked any fat. The hospital workers told investigators that the skin was all hanging from the bones. Shortly after the concerned acquaintance brought the child to the hospital, the investigation commenced. The mother informed detectives that she did not take the victim to the hospital because she had a lot going on in her personal life and at work.

During an interview with detectives, the baby’s mother reportedly stated that she fed her son 1 ounce of formula multiple times every day. The mother also reported that the infant regurgitated a significant amount of the formula. The woman also stated that she was overwhelmed by her job and other aspects of her personal life. The mother further stated that she waited for a scheduled visit with the child’s physician to address the eating and weight issues, but she never took him to the follow-up appointment, despite his condition not improving. She further stated that when the victim’s condition worsened, she never took him to the emergency room.

The baby gained 3 pounds in just a few days after admission and had no trouble digesting meals, according to the hospital staff. The hospital staff informed investigators that the baby was completely capable of eating. This week’s formal prosecution of the mom revealed that she knew her baby would have died if her friend hadn’t taken her to the hospital. According to court records, the young mother is currently in jail on a $25,000 bond.
