Mason City Walgreens, seven other Walgreens stores in state charged with failing to maintain records

MASON CITY — The Iowa Board of Pharmacy has set a hearing date after levying 16 counts of violations against eight Walgreens stores in the state, including the store located in Mason City.

A board document  states that each of the locations are charged with one violation of failing to create and maintain complete and accurate records as required by state or federal law or in regulation or rule of the board, as well as one count that committing acts that would render their Controlled Substances Act registration inconsistent with the public’s interest.

Besides the Mason City Walgreens location, also charged are three of their locations in Des Moines, two in Clive, and single locations in Ankeny and Waterloo.

The Iowa Board of Pharmacy plans to hear the case on January 9th at their office in Des Moines.
