Mason City man jailed after accident that injured two

MASON CITY — A Mason City man has been charged after an accident on Friday night injured two.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says they were called out to the intersection of Old Highway 18 east of Mason City and Ulmus Avenue shortly after 9:20 Friday night for a two-vehicle collision.

They say their investigation found that a vehicle operated by 20-year-old Kade Hambly of Mason City entered the roadway from the north, not stopping at the stop sign, and collided with a vehicle going east driven by 27-year-old Eppie Johnson of Rock Falls.

Johnson and a passenger in his vehicle, 24-year-old Shaylin McRoberts, were taken to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City for treatment of minor injuries.

Hambly was arrested at the scene and charged with second offense operating while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
