NORTHWOOD — The Worth County Sheriff’s Department says they’ve arrested a man wanted from a chase in Mason City last week.
Authorities say they pulled over a vehicle at about 1:40 Sunday morning. 28-year-old Jamie McFarland of Mason City allegedly gave a deputy a false name to hide his identity. He and 46-year-old Carrie Veal of Rochester were taken into custody, with both being charged with interference with official acts. Veal was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McFarland was wanted by Mason City police after he sped away from a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Pierce on Wednesday night, with that incident ending when he struck a vehicle at the intersection of 12th and North Pierce but was able to flee from the area.
