Lake Mills man charged with sexual abuse in Mason City

MASON CITY — A Lake Mills man is in jail on sexual abuse charges in Cerro Gordo County.
20-year-old Benjamin Monson is accused of committing sexual abuse in Mason City twice, on October 31st and November 15th of last year. Court documents state the incidents happened at two different locations, with one of the female victims being unconscious and physically helpless at the time, with the other being forced against her will.
Monson was arrested in Winnebago County and transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail, where he is being held on $20,000 bond. He’s due in court for his preliminary hearing on November 4th.
