Hampton man dead after two-vehicle fatal accident in Butler County
CLARKSVILLE — Further details have been released about a fatal accident in Butler County on Wednesday night.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at the intersection of State Highway 3 and Ridge Avenue south of Clarksville at about 10:25 PM. A vehicle was northbound on Ridge Avenue and failed to yield for the stop sign, being struck by another vehicle traveling westbound on State Highway 3. Both vehicles ended up in the north ditch.
26-year-old Juan Murillo of Hampton was a passenger in the first vehicle and died in the accident. 22-year-old Ariel Murillo of Hampton was the driver of the first car and was not injured, while another passenger in that vehicle, 17-year-old Marcel Murillo, was taken to a hospital in Waverly with injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, 21-year-old Nelida Barragan-Barajas of Houston Texas, was also taken to the hospital in Waverly with injuries.
