AMES — Iowa running back Tyler Goodson says emotions will run high on Saturday when the 10th-ranked Hawkeyes visit 9th-rated Iowa State in sold out Jack Trice Stadium. It will be the first game between the rivals in two years.

The recent history has featured close, hard fought games and Goodson expects nothing different.

Iowa State corner Datrone Young says the players are not focused on the hype surrounding Saturday’s game against Iowa. ESPN’s College GameDay will make it’s second visit to Ames in three years prior to the top ten showdown.

Young says it is good to see the Cyclone program get so much national exposure.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Franmil Reyes, Oscar Mercado and José Ramirez homered, and the Cleveland Indians beat the Minnesota Twins 4-1. Reyes’ two-run shot in the third inning against Andrew Albers snapped the Indians’ 25-inning scoreless streak. The 418-foot blast to center also gave Cleveland a 2-1 lead. The Indians managed just two runs while dropping the first three games of the series, including 3-0 losses on Tuesday and Wednesday. They were limited to one baserunner on Wednesday on Amed Rosario’s single in the seventh.
