Doyle, Hawkeyes part ways — university engages Kansas City law firm to conduct independent review of racial disparities within football program

IOWA CITY — — The University of Iowa announced this morning that a separation agreement has been tendered with head strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle effective today. The statement from the athletic department says the university’s Office of General Counsel has engaged the Kansas City law firm of Husch Blackwell to conduct an independent review of issues and allegations relating to racial disparities within the football program. Doyle in a written statement says he’s grateful for the opportunity to work with incredible players, coaches and support staff. He also says he’s confident that his record and character will be confirmed in the course of the independent review. Doyle says with the separation agreement it’s time to move on from Iowa football, and he and his family are looking forward to the next chapter. Doyle was placed on administrative leave a week ago after several former Hawkeye players made accusations against him on social media.
