Construction to force State Highway 9 near Grafton to be closed starting next week
GRAFTON — A section of State Highway 9 in Worth County will be closed for two weeks starting next week.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says they’ll be replacing a culvert about a half mile east of County Road S-62 near Grafton starting next Wednesday morning.
During the project, motorists will be detoured around the work zone by traveling north on County Road S-62/Warbler Avenue for about three miles, east on 390th Street for three miles, south on County Road S-70/Balsam Avenue and then back onto the highway.
The DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit, and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear their seat belt.
