Clear Lake, Northwood named “All-Star Communities” by Iowa League of Cities

CLEAR LAKE — The City of Clear Lake on Friday was named a “2023 All-Star Community” by the Iowa League of Cities for the Clear Lake Athletics & Wellness Center and its collaboration with the Clear Lake Community School District to build and operate the facility.

The All-Star Community Award is the most prestigious honor given by the Iowa League of Cities, with entries being judged by a panel of former city officials and others familiar with municipal government. Judges determined winners based on innovative efforts, urban renewal, collaboration, preservation, or quality of life improvements.

Clear Lake was selected in the mid-sized city category, while another north-central Iowa community, Northwood, will be recognized in the small city category.

The awards will be presented during the Iowa League of Cities Annual Conference & Exhibit in Cedar Rapids September 20th through the 22nd.
