Clear Lake names new library director
CLEAR LAKE — The City of Clear Lake recently announced the hiring of their next library director. Bryna Walker most recently has served as the director of the city library in Washington in southeastern Iowa.
City Administrator Scott Flory applauded the library’s board of trustees on their work during the search process. “The Library Board of Trustees did a really nice job in that process. There were a number of applicants there, so I got to work for only the second time in my career on replacing a library director.”
Walker will replace Jill Pannkuk, who is retiring on September 10th after six years on the job. Flory says, “She’s done a nice job for us for nearly seven years. She came to us at a perfect moment I think in her career, and she’s had a very long, distinguished career outside of Clear Lake as well, so we’re lucky to have Jill and the contributions that she’s made here for the last nearly seven years.”
Flory says that Walker during the interview process stated she thought Clear Lake would be a great fit for her professionally and personally as it would put her closer to family.
