Clear Lake health, wellness center public meetings start this week

CLEAR LAKE — The first of three listening post sessions about a proposed health and wellness center to be constructed at Clear Lake High School is scheduled for this week.

City and school officials are looking into the concept of working jointly to construct the center on the south side of the high school gymnasium. Concepts for the center include additional gym space, a meeting space for seniors, space for exercise classes and an indoor swimming pool. Voters would likely vote on a bond issue for the project in March of next year, with the project possibly completed by the end of 2021.

The first listening post will take place at 7 o’clock this Wednesday night at City Hall. The second meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 at the E. B. Stillman Auditorium at Clear Lake Middle School. The last meeting is scheduled for the morning of Monday, September 23rd in the Lakeview Room at City Park at 7:30 AM.
