Clear Lake council approves indoor playground equipment purchase for Wellness Center
CLEAR LAKE — Clear Lake’s City Council last night approved the purchase of indoor playground equipment for the community’s new wellness center. The bid was from the Soft Play company of Englewood Colorado that includes a large customized play structure, sculpted soft foam play elements, wall-mounted play panels, parent seating, and safety surfacing.
Wellness Center director Adam Long says many in the community wanted to see an indoor playground as part of the center. “From all the data that we were able to get, the indoor playground was something that I think was very, very important to our community and to our parents. It will be a great asset for our kids to be able to have a place to play.”
Long says the playground will be one of the initial things that people see in the new center. “This is going to be the first section that you see when you walk in, so I think that’s very important for it to be kind of that wow factor that we want to see. From the pictures, you can see that wow factor. It’s going to be a good space that’s definitely going to get people’s attention right when they walk in that facility.”
Soft Play’s bid was for $135,486
