Clear Lake bicyclist dead after being struck by a pickup
CLEAR LAKE — A Clear Lake man is dead after he was struck by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle.
The Iowa State Patrol says 58-year-old Robin Faught was traveling south on Grouse Avenue south of the intersection of 27th Avenue South at about 11:15 Wednesday morning when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 94-year-old Carroll Etchen of Clear Lake.
Faught was taken to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City where he was pronounced dead. The Clear Lake Police and Fire Departments and the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene of the accident.
