Clarksville man faces rest of his life in prison after being convicted of sexual abuse
CHARLES CITY — A Clarksville man faces over 100 years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual abuse charges in Floyd County.
40-year-old Joshua Knutson was accused of committing sexual abuse on numerous occasions between 2009 and 2012 at a residence in Charles City, assaulting a juvenile relative multiple times.
Knutson chose to have a bench trial instead of a trial by jury, with District Judge Chris Foy announcing the verdict on Tuesday in Floyd County District Court, convicting Knutson on four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison on each charge, and incest, a Class D felony punishable by up to five years.
Knutson is scheduled to be sentenced on August 30th.
