City of Clear Lake postpones upcoming large-item pick-up event

CLEAR LAKE — The City of Clear Lake has decided to postpone the city’s large-item pick-up scheduled for next month.

City Administrator Scott Flory says in response to the COVID-19 situation and concerns for overall health, well-being, and safety of the city’s employees, the city decided to suspend the large-item pick-up that was originally scheduled for the week of April 20th. Flory says the city must simply do what it can to limit their employees’ potential exposure to the virus.

He adds that thinking ahead, the potential for city staff to be impacted by any “stay-at-home” order during the dates scheduled for the large-item pick-up is uncertain at this time.

Flory says the hope is to be able to re-schedule the large-item pick-up event for later this spring or early summer.
