City braces for snow and icy temperatures

Rain and snow are forecasted to make a comeback in the five boroughs late Friday night and persist into Saturday morning, following a few scattered showers in the city on Friday.

Conditions are expected to dry up by 10 a.m. on Saturday, resulting in a minimal accumulation of up to an inch in certain areas. Some spots may see a light dusting on grass and cars throughout the city.

An arctic air is making its way in beyond the snow, bringing with it some of the coldest temperatures we’ve seen in months. This chilly arrival coincides with the first official day of winter, which falls on Saturday.

On Saturday, temperatures will reach a high of 35 degrees before dropping down to the teens during the night. At times, the wind chill will make it feel near zero.

Sunday will bring continued cold temperatures, with highs reaching the mid-20s and lows dropping back down to the teens. However, despite the chilly weather, the skies will be sunny and there won’t be any precipitation.
