Cerro Gordo County conservation employee hit by car

SWALEDALE — A Cerro Gordo County employee was struck by a car Thursday afternoon near Swaledale.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says they were called at about 1:10 Thursday afternoon to the 9000 block of Indigo Avenue, where on arrival they found a rural mail carrier, 61-year-old Robert De Los Santos of Sheffield, struck a county conservation maintenance worker, 22-year-old Isaac Bartz of Mason City, who was working on some trees in the ditch.

Bartz was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City with non-life threatening injuries.
