Authorities search for Mason City man after he successfully flees during pursuit

MASON CITY — Authorities are looking for a Mason City man involved in a pursuit on Monday night.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says a deputy spotted 34-year-old Jared Schneckloth at about 8:45 PM operating a vehicle near Fin and Feather Lake just southeast of the intersection of US Highway 65 and the Avenue of the Saints. Schneckloth has three active arrest warrants from Council Bluffs, Woodbury County and Plymouth County and had his driver’s license barred.

The Sheriff’s Department  says Schneckloth immediately fled from the deputy and a pursuit started near 220th and Quail Avenue and continued south on Quail at speeds over 110 miles per hour. The pursuit ended near Rockwell where the deputy lost sight of the vehicle, with the vehicle being located unoccupied a short time later on the south end of Rockwell. Schneckloth was not located after an extensive search.

Anyone with information on Schneckloth’s whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement.
