.Iowa`s active weather will persist into the weekend with our
ongoing system tonight and then a more potent low pressure area
into Saturday. Our current system will bring a wintry mixture of
precipitation over the northwest two-thirds of the state, while
Saturday`s storm will be more potent with the main threat a heavy,
wind blown snow west and north.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation through late evening. Additional
snow accumulations 1 to 2 inches north, and ice accumulations
less than one tenth of an inch are expected. Heavy snow and
blowing snow possible Saturday and Saturday Night, preceded by
light freezing rain. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches
and ice accumulations of a light glaze are possible. Locally
higher snow amounts possible NW.
* WHERE...Portions of west central and northern Iowa
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until midnight CST
tonight. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Saturday morning
through late Saturday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snow and ice this evening may result
in difficult travel conditions. Be prepared for reduced
visibilities at times. Plan on difficult travel conditions with
reductions in visibility possible. Travel may also be severely
impacted over northwest Iowa Saturday and Saturday Night.
