Animal Services in Iowa City conducting an investigation regarding a cat bite incident

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, Iowa City Animal Services is currently searching for details regarding the vaccination status of a cat that bit someone on Sunday.

According to reports, a cat with white fur and no collar was involved in a bite incident that occurred on Streb Street’s 700 block.

If you have any information, please feel free to contact Iowa City Animal Services at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800. They would be more than happy to assist you.

Those who have been bitten or whose pet has bitten someone can also receive guidance from the department.

    1. Obtain the owner’s contact information and inquire about the rabies vaccination status of the animal.
    2. Immediately clean the bite with soap and water.
    3. Seek medical attention to prevent infection.
    4. File a bite report with Iowa City Animal Services or the Iowa City Police Department.

If your pet happens to bite someone, it is crucial to take immediate action.

    1. Inform the victim and Animal Services of your pet’s rabies vaccination status.
    2. Report the bite to ensure public health and safety. Failure to report a bite may result in a fine.
