Teen Dies in Franklin County Crash Following Vehicle Overcorrection

ROBERTSVILLE, Mo. — A 19-year-old woman lost her life in a car accident on Saturday afternoon in Franklin County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Route O near Woods Road in Robertsville. Authorities reported that a 45-year-old man was driving eastbound with the 19-year-old as a passenger when the vehicle’s right tire briefly left the roadway.

The driver attempted to correct the vehicle’s path but crossed the center line and overcorrected, causing the car to veer off the road again. The vehicle struck a utility pole and a tree before rolling onto its side.

The young woman was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The driver did not sustain any injuries, according to the MSHP crash report.
