Expect fog and drizzle in Kansas City, MO on Christmas morning

Travelers in Missouri may encounter patchy fog and drizzle this Christmas Eve, which could affect road conditions on major highways such as I-70. It is anticipated that visibility will be reduced to less than a mile in northern Missouri, particularly during the morning hours.

The National Weather Service has forecasted that fog will persist in the southwestern and central parts of the state throughout the afternoon. Although the temperatures will be mild, reaching the mid-40s, the skies will remain overcast.

As night falls, patchy fog is expected to redevelop, and temperatures will drop to a low of 33 degrees. This could result in slippery conditions in certain areas.

On Christmas Day, there will be areas of fog and a slight chance of drizzle in the morning. Although conditions will mostly be dry, it will be cloudy with temperatures reaching a high of 46 degrees. It is advised that drivers exercise caution, particularly during the early hours when visibility may be reduced.

The upcoming weather forecast indicates a small possibility of rain on Thursday, with temperatures rising to the low 50s.

As we head into Friday, the mercury could climb up to 55 degrees, but there is a higher chance of rain during the evening hours. However, Saturday brings some respite with partly sunny skies and a high temperature of around 56.

When traveling during the holidays, it is important to stay updated on local weather conditions and plan accordingly. It is advisable to allot extra time for your commute and be prepared for potential delays.

Additionally, remember to keep your headlights on low beam when driving through foggy areas and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. These precautions will contribute to a safer and smoother journey.
