On Sunday, December 15, just after midnight, deputies from the Oktibbeha County sheriff’s office were called to Lilac Street in response to a reported assault.

Johnson has been released on a $2,000 bond.

The Starkville Police released a statement regarding the incident.

As soon as we learned about the incident, we took swift action by placing the officer on administrative leave and launching an internal investigation.

At the Starkville Police Department, we take all allegations seriously and are dedicated to maintaining the utmost accountability and transparency.

We have been fully cooperating with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office and fully support their appropriate actions based on the investigation’s findings.
