Unpredictable temperature fluctuations expected throughout the week

Temperatures are remaining above average for this time of year in Kansas City, Missouri. Although there will be a slight breeze in the morning and midday, the afternoon is expected to be pleasant with plenty of sunshine.

The winds will be elevated from the northwest, ranging from 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. It’s worth noting that our normal high for this time of year is 42 degrees.

Additionally, it’s interesting to mention that winter is only six days away from officially starting. The weather forecast for the next seven days is expected to be quiet, with no significant chances of rain or snow. However, there will be a fluctuation in temperatures throughout the week.

At the beginning of the week, temperatures will reach the lower 50s, but a cold front will cause them to drop back down to the 30s on Wednesday. The second half of the week will remain fairly chilly, with most days seeing temperatures in the 30s.

Despite the cold weather, the weekend is expected to have plenty of sunshine, allowing for uninterrupted Christmas festivities.

Furthermore, there are indications that the week of Christmas will have temperatures above normal, with computer models suggesting temperatures in the 40s and lower 50s on Christmas Day.

Sunday welcomed warmer temperatures to the area, and the start of the work week will see temperatures in the lower 50s. Take a moment to step outside on Sunday evening and gaze towards the eastern sky, where you’ll find our December full moon.

Although it technically reached its full phase early Sunday morning, it will still appear full as it rises once again in the evening. Keep an eye out for Jupiter, a bright planet that will be located near the moon.

Monday is shaping up to be another pleasant day, with morning lows in the mid-30s and afternoon temperatures reaching the lower 50s.

Although there will be a bit of a breeze from the northwest throughout the day, we can expect plenty of sunshine. The forecast for the upcoming week remains calm, with no significant chances of rain or snow in the next seven days.

However, the temperature will continue to fluctuate. The start of the week will bring us temperatures in the lower 50s, but a cold front on Wednesday will bring back the 30s. The second half of the week will settle into a noticeably colder pattern, with most days staying in the 30s.

Despite the chilly weather, the weekend looks promising with abundant sunshine, allowing for uninterrupted Christmas festivities. As we approach Christmas week, there are indications that temperatures will trend above normal. According to computer models, Christmas Day could see temperatures in the 40s and lower 50s.
