A suspect has been apprehended after making threats to stab customers at a popular holiday pop-up bar in Kansas City on Saturday evening.
Late in the evening, the Kansas City Police Department received a distress call regarding a potentially dangerous situation at the Miracle pop-up bar.
Situated at the intersection of West 49th Street and Jefferson Street in the Country Club Plaza, the report stated that an individual armed with a knife was making attempts to harm customers. Without wasting any time, officers were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
According to Miracle, the person in question was expelled from the pop-up bar a few days ago, specifically on Thursday evening, due to disruptive behavior. Despite this, the individual attempted to return on Saturday night but was ultimately escorted out by the police.
Around 11:30 p.m., shortly after, Miracle mentioned that the person returned to the bar armed with a knife. In order to protect the safety of the staff members and other customers, the bar staff decided to take matters into their own hands and apprehended the individual.
When officers returned to the scene, they discovered the suspect in a partially barricaded corner, surrounded by stools and bar furniture, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
The police reported that they apprehended the individuals without any trouble, and fortunately, no one sustained any significant injuries.
“We prioritize the safety of our patrons and employees, which is why we will be taking further measures to enhance security. This includes the addition of more security personnel and off-duty police officers,” emphasized Miracle.
The suspect’s name has not been disclosed by law enforcement.
