Fayette County authorities arrested a man from Ansted on a felony drug charge.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Jonathon M. Williams, aged 27, was charged with felony after an incident that occurred during midday.

Sheriff Mike Fridley of Fayette County reported that his deputies were in the process of serving a felony warrant near White Row Road.

As they kept a watchful eye, they witnessed Williams and another man standing outside a house.

As soon as the deputies approached, the two individuals hastily tossed their backpacks beneath an ATV and made an attempt to walk away.

Williams was apprehended by the deputies, and upon searching his backpack, suspected methamphetamine and marijuana were discovered.

Williams faces charges of possessing a Schedule II Narcotic with the intention to distribute.

After being unable to post bond, he was transported to Southern Regional Jail.
